It will examine when, how, and why these transfers occurred, and whether the Jesuit order bears institutional responsibility. Catalonia is the “mother province” controlling the Bolivian mission. Victims’ groups allege that Bolivia was used as a “dumping ground” for pedophile or homosexual priests. In 2024, Catalan Jesuits acknowledged 145 allegations of sexual abuse since 1948. Pope Leo XIV has issued an Easter message to residents of Debel, a predominantly Christian village in southern Lebanon, currently besieged by ongoing Israeli bombardments and military restrictions.
